Ole Miss Golf Course

Ole Miss is an 18-hole parkland-style course just a couple miles from campus, winding through rolling hills, pines, and small lakes. Fairways are generally generous off the tee, but elevation changes, well-placed bunkers, and greens with subtle breaks force you to think about position rather than just bombing driver. The layout is designed to be fun for the public while still being a legit test for the Ole Miss men’s and women’s teams, especially from the back tees. With full practice facilities, a short-course area for wedge work, and a relaxed college-town vibe, it’s a very complete “home” course.

Mallard Pointe Golf Course

Mallard Pointe is a Bob Cupp design laid out along the shores of Sardis Lake, giving you a true “state park” feel with tree-lined fairways and big water views. It’s a full-on championship course: over 7,000 yards from the tips with elevation changes, several risk-reward holes, some blind tee shots, and greens that have plenty of slope. Misses can bring native grasses, water, and trees into play, but the fairways are wide enough that solid contact is rewarded. The large range and short-game area make it easy to warm up before tackling the course, and the clubhouse patio looks out over the property, which is great for post-round hangs.

Kirkwood National Golf Club

Kirkwood is a big, wooded championship track carved through 600+ acres of North Mississippi hills. Nearly every hole is framed by dense trees, so ball-striking and tee-shot accuracy are at a premium. The course stretches over 7,100 yards from the tips with several blind shots, penal rough, and firm, fairly quick greens that reward precise approaches and crisp short-game play. Despite the challenge, there are multiple tee boxes that let you dial the course back to something more forgiving. With cottages on property and full practice facilities, it feels like a quiet golf retreat that’s still only about 30 minutes from Oxford.

The Links at Oxford Golf & Country Club

The Links at Oxford is a compact 9-hole regulation course attached to the Links apartment community, designed to be convenient and affordable. It plays to a par 35 at just over 3,000 yards, so it’s very approachable for newer golfers or anyone looking to sneak in a quick nine. The routing uses small elevation changes, water on a few holes, and bunkering to create enough strategy that better players can still have fun working the ball and chasing birdies. With a driving range and short-game practice area on site, it doubles nicely as a practice spot when you don’t want to commit to a full 18.
